I want to use today’s post to introduce The Ten Week Journey. You may have heard it mentioned or seen the little ad square over on the right, and some of you (actually over 100 of you now) have been on The Ten Week Journey yourself. I also want to ask for a little help. You see, if you are reading this blog post, you are probably already a fairly committed language learner. This post is for those who aren’t yet there. You know them. They talk about wanting to learn another language. They plan to . . . someday. The Ten Week Journey is for them. I created The Ten Week Journey out of the belief that everyone can learn another language with just a little help. I believe that nearly everyone is interested in learning a language, but the problem is that you need to be more than just interested to actually get started.
There is a quote I often use to talk about The Ten Week Journey. If you are interested, you will do what is convenient. If you are committed, you will do whatever it takes. With the journey, I want to provide convenient steps with which interested learners can get started, believing that over the course of journey, I can give the tools and understanding that will lead to the successful pursuit of learning another language.
The Ten Week Journey is an automatic email series. Simply sign up and every week you will receive an email that leads you into both the language you wish to learn as well as the knowledge and tools needed to thrive as an independent language learner.
So far the response to the program has been overwhelmingly positive. I won’t pretend that it is perfect and it certainly isn’t a magic bullet. You still have to work for it. But whereas before, the main problem was knowing how to begin to learn another language, The Ten Week Journey fills that void. It will help you get started and give you the tools and knowhow to keep going.
